Christmas Part 1

We had a busy weekend filled with Christmas programs and dinners. I love this time of year. After weeks of planning and rehearsing, this weekend finally arrived and all went as planned.

Friday night we had a dinner for a group of guys that Joe works with. These guys are anywhere from 16 to 23 or so. The initial plan was for the guys to bring their girlfriends and we would have a dinner with them in hopes of getting to know them all better. 8pm came and the boys started to show up, but they were dateless. They decided not to bring their girlfriends along. In the words of one of the guys,

" I didn't want to bring one of my girlfriends because then the other one would be jealous. And I couldn't bring them both cuz then they would fight with each other".

Go figure. Despite the guys being dateless, we had a great time with them.

We taught the guys to play Pictionary. It was a success and we enjoyed some good laughs together.

Massama Christmas Service

Saturday evening we had the kids Christmas program in Massama. The kids did a fabulous job and I think it's safe to say that they had an awesome time performing for friends and family. The church was packed full, which was incredibly encouraging to see. Some of the kids had their parent's attend, which was really cool.

The set we made. Impressive right???

a full house.

The Portuguese Choir singing "Emmanuel", "Away in a Manger", "Hark the Herald" and "Silent Night".

Our angels and shepherds and inn keeper in waiting.

What a cutie.

singing their cute little songs.

The whole crew involved with the program.

This little girl is quite the firecracker.

It continues to be our prayer in the next few days that this year would be a special Christmas for these kids. We're hoping that with them being involved in the Christmas story, that the story would be a little more alive for them. God is moving in these kids and it's pretty cool if you ask me.

Loures Christmas Program

Last but not least, we had the Loures Christmas service on Sunday evening. The evening was full of good music, cute kids poems and awesome food and good conversation with church family. Again, the church was packed. It's exciting to see. The little church here was just a buzzing.

us singing in the choir again.

The Amadora youth sang as well..."Oh Happy Day". They did an incredible job. I have a video coming of this as well.

Doug videoed our choir singing in Portuguese. I unfortunately do not have the flash drive with those files on them yet, but when I get it, I will post some videos of us singing and some of the kids singing. So stay tuned for those.

Us girls had all dressed up so nicely for church on Sunday. It was only fitting that we take a photo...gangsta style.
